 The Tradition Continues |It was 54 years ago this fall that I came to BYUH, then known as Church College of Hawaii, with my sister Peggy and good friend Carole Strong Roberts and enjoyed the spirit of ALOHA. It was 27 years ago that Zoe Harker came with her 2 cousins Zoe Aki and Amber Stone to go to school and enjoyed this amazing place. So now Hazel Stone is here to continue doing many of the things that we did. The school has changed a lot and has expanded to almost 3500 students from 60 countries around the world. Many of the students use the "I Work" program where they can work mostly at the PCC, get educated here, and then return to their home country debt free to contribute in many ways to their culture, society and the growing worldwide Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Just another week in Paradise

  This week was a little slower at the PCC so we had some fun singing and harmonizing together. Julie Larsen used to sing in the Tabernacle choir for 11 years and Jacque Lee was a back up singer for Donny Osmond and Carol Thompson is a great singer so....I guess my claim to fame is that I sang with the Hicken Sisters ...LOL and OH ! ...don't forget my stint with Wendy Watson Nelson.  That has got to count for something...right ?? We are getting ready to sing at a farewell munch and mingle for a couple of sisters that are leaving soon, one of them being Lanea Condi who has requested "I Will follow Him" from Sister Act. So Jacque is helping us create our "back up singer" moves. I'm sure we will look like professionals...LOL So this week we also celebrated our amazing Hella Lunnen's 89th birthday. She is the sister who is our Hawaiian quilter. She was on a mission at the Laie temple a few years ago with her husband and after he passed away she was determine...
