HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHELLEY

Shelley Petersen was lucky enough to get a birthday visit from her brothers, Todd Wilkes from California and Brad Wilkes from Utah and mother Pat Wilkes from Logan Utah.
Brad Wilkes, Sherri Sauve, Todd Wilkes, Pat Wilkes, Joan , Sharla Behan and Shelley

We had a great visit and delicious Birthday dinner with Shelley's family. Her mother fell the night before they left for Hawaii so she was sporting 2 black eyes the whole time she was here....but she is like Grandma Ethel.  She took it all in stride, no broken bones and minor injury, an amazingly sharp 94 year old!! We heard a lot of interesting stories from Brad regarding he and his wife's missionary work in Africa.  One of the towns believed that they had the stone box that held the 10 commandments from Moses' time. The people were starving and he and his wife asked the church for help. He said the next day they had 250,000 dollars for food relief there. They went to work and achieved so much. He and his wife are retired and continue to do full time humanitarian work, She does " Days for Girls " kits making 60,000 of them a month. Todd and his wife also have humanitarian projects they do in Africa. Probably all stemming from when their father Kay Wilkes worked for the Government in Africa when they were young. Todd was a teen and lived with Shelley and Bill and played football in Raymond with the Hicken boys for some of that time. Shelley has some amazing brothers!!

On our Wednesday off Cathy, Julie, Joan and Shelley took a trip to Pearl Harbor
It was actually kind of a eerie feeling hearing of all the men who lost their lives that day with Japan's surprise attack which happened on a Sunday morning. First the unsuspecting airfield attach and then the many ships lined up in Pearl harbor.... bombed and sunk....the perfect storm....unsuspecting targets.
