Hot Town Summer in "the City"...Back of my neck is dirty and sweaty

This song really best describes the hot sweaty days teaching ukulele at the settlement...but its actually still really fun. When we play I quit often say we are having an INTERNATIONAL concert. The guests are often from the USA and sooooo many other countries. The other day I spent time with a cute family from Dubai who were vegan and trying to figure out where to eat. They wanted to know if "mormons" were Christian. I told them yes and that's why the nickname is NOT used anymore bur we say we belong to "The Church of Jesus Christ of Later day Saints". Of couse I invited them to go on the tram tour up around the school and to the temple or as I sometime call it "The Taj Mahal" of the Pacific. They were excited to go.

Look at this cute family of boys who wanted a picture with me. The oldest one was 5, then twins 4 and a 3 and 2 year old.....wild times. We sang" Row Row Row your Boat" and did a lot of old MacDonalds farm animals with the greatest sound effects you can imagine!!!
Look who showed up at the PCC. Camilla Pratt from Raymond. She had her 4 cute kids with her and they were visiting an "adopted former missionary" from New Zealand and her husband.

This is quite an historic quilt that was made years ago when the PCC was first opening and was quilted by some Hawaiian Ladies in the Hawaiian village. Then a years ago after she died it was donated back to the PCC. It's the Hawaiian Coat of Arms combined with the Hawaiian flag.

We had a surprise visit. I was trying encourage this gentleman to take lessons with his guests... finally he whispered to me...I'm Jakes uncle. ( Jake Shimabukaro a famous Hawaiian Uke player) I knew exactly who he was talking about and we laughed!!!

We were honored to attend the devotional at Aotearoa in the beautiful village with the students and leaders. They are amazing singers and dancers and have such an enlightening spirit about them. I love how the women make their hands "quiver " as they sing. Also both men and women make ugly faces that are supposed to scare away evil at the end of their dance. What a unique culture.

One of the greatest thing I do is meet people from around the world that are kind and interesting and LOVE the PCC and what we do for the students.
I met this awesome couple from Ireland on their honeymoon. They were so friendly and nice and we got visiting and I told them my grandmother was born in Gilford, County Down, Ireland and they said WHAT ....that's
where we are from. Their names are Shaun and Aimaer Dolan from Carryduff in County down. He teaches school and she is a doctor or nurse. I told them I wanted to come to Ireland to visit and they said I should look them up. Of course I send them to the Tram Tour which goes up around the school and to the temple. I later saw them at the Luau because I had that assignment. I hope I see them again, either in Ireland or Heaven LOL
