HARKERS come to HAWAII

The Temple is always a great spot. There is a straight shot to the ocean and its so beautiful. When it was dedicated it was promised that anyone on the temple grounds would feel God's presence. It's TRUE

The most popular activity seemed to be fun at the beach for this crazy group. They did a lot of digging and creating in the sand at every beach we went to...... AND in true Harker fashion we ALWAYS were the last people to leave the beach waiting until it was dark of course. This last project was kind of the best one because they all worked on it for hours both young and old. I guess it's the HARKER sand castle. This was in Kailua I think it's called Lanikai Beach.

Waimea Bay, has a beautiful beach and great cliffs to jump off.
Its actually a long way down!
                                             More digging in the sand.................

I mostly tried to keep from getting a big sunburn.
This was at sharks cove where the kids had fun snorkeling and finding fish and turtles and the like.

Another beach where we talked a nice guy into taking our picture. He photo bombed the first one!!

A big day at the Polynesian Cultural Center

Polynesian Cultural Center was a lot of fun for everyone. Ukulele lessons for everyone !!!

This was a hike that Hazel recommended to a waterfall which was behind PCC. It was a little harder than we thought, Kyle stayed back with the littles but Pearl was a trooper and lead the way. It was back and forth across a stream and kinda slippery and muddy but super fun. It was hot so we all jumped in .....including ME. I didn't even have my swim suit on but I was so hot and sweaty I had no choice !!

They stayed at a great place just down the road in Hauula which was right across from a public beach park. So they could just walk over in the morning and be on the sand. Kyle and Zoe's family stayed upstairs and Jesse and Tina were downstairs with Ivory and the girls and Payson and Elley. The teens would stay up at night and visit. I kept trying to get a picture at any point where they were not either trying to be super "cool" or just making ridiculous faces. I was NOT very successful as you can see!!

Diamond Head with the whole gang. Lots of climbing and stair, stairs, stairs. Wow, everyone made it!!!

We had a great hike up to Diamond Head  and took a picture at the top with the Jesse, Ivory and               Zoe. It was an amazing view but worth the big climb.

This is a picture of "shy grass". When you touch the leaves it shrivels up and pretends to be dead. Jesse knew about it and we spent quite a while searching for it. I asked a few others here and they didn't know about it. I haven't seen any since the walk to the PCC falls.
After the main group left Ivory and Abbey and Hayden stayed for 2 more days of fun in the sun.
Grandma Joan with two cuties, Abbey and Hayden

Lots of beautiful spots for pictures at the PCC so we got after it......
