"Few Realms Capture the Soul Like Polynesia"
POLY means "many" and NESIA means "islands". Polynesians love their island homes and treasure their shared heritage. Writers speak of silver sands, azure lagoons, outrigger canoes, happy people mending nets, lasting friendships and enduring traditions. The whole story is too big and too vast to comprehend but we know that the hand of God played a huge part in this history, PAST, PRESENT, and FUTURE. It covers an area of 12 MILLION square miles. This O'Hana (family) is like a huge net with strong cords connecting this large polynesian family. Key representatives of the many island cultures were chosen to represent the vast area at the POLYNESIAN CULTURAL CENTER but WE happily and respectfully acknowledge the importance of other cultures NOT represented at the PCC.
Joined at the heart of the PCC is Brigham Young University Hawaii. Who's mantra is "come to learn and go forth to serve". Over 2 years ago the PCC celebrated its 60th anniversary. For over 60 years this special spot has been helping students from all over the world get an education while working here. David O McKay while speaking in Laie to dedicate for the groundbreaking of Church College of Hawaii, in a moment of clear prophecy, said that school, the temple and the town of Laie, would become a missionary factor influencing not thousands, not tens of thousands, but millions of people seeking to know the significance of this place.
I'll bet a few people were pretty wide eyed and shocked at that statement since there was literally NOTHING here !!!!! Well the prophet knew. Fast forward and at the time of the 60th Anniversary Celebration over 50 MILLION people have visited the PCC.
Which brings me to my BLOG POST. The Polynesian Cultural Center exists to share the cultures of Polynesia BUT because of what has transpired by God's hand in previous years we ARE GATHERING ISRAEL
Today I will Highlight the HUKI SHOW that begins each day at the PCC as an introduction to the cultures. ( Don't worry, we are NOT preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ) But listen to the WORDS
THE HUKI SHOW
This is EARTH MOTHER who feels a call to help the young people. You will hear a lot of voices. Make sure you listen for the ones of the people gone before who came to build this place. This is Huki, a net that will gather the world to experience our family our O'Hana. What is the most important thing in the world, THE PEOPLE, THE PEOPLE, THE PEOPLE
So LEAN IN and LOOK DEEP........
HAWAII greeting is Aloha. ALOHA is family, aloha brings us all together, aloha makes us one, it's the heartbeat of this land, what is the MOST important thing.... THE PEOPLE, THE PEOPLE, THE PEOPLE
