My Group at the MISSION SETTLEMENT

Hella, Carol, Brent ( Jacque's husband) Julie, Lanea, Joan, Ihilani, Jacque, David and Gina Wayt

This is the group I mainly work with every day. We have a lot of fun. Jacque Lee and Julie Larsen, both sang with the tabernacle choir, so when it's not busy we stand around and sing fun songs with lots of harmony. Hella, a German born lady on the far left, who will be 89 Sept. 5, is probably one of, if not the oldest serving missionary in the church. The mission president said they prayed and deliberated for months about whether to call her or not. She is our quilter. She sits and does Hawaiian quilting and explains it all to people when they come in. She is very energetic and wants it ALL done properly...everything in whole store. She also keeps us supplied with homemade cookies.

There are usually about 5 of us rotating between the cash register and teaching the Ukulele lessons. We have people daily from all over the world. I am always surprised at the people who are there from mainland China, Mongolia, France, Sweden, Germany, England and Japan...just to mention a few.

I got in a session at the temple even thought it was booked solid til it closes Sept 1 for 6 weeks for cleaning etc. I just went on my day off and waited to see if someone didn't show up and got to go. It was great. It looks like the Cardston temple on the outside, had the same architect but is VERY much different on the inside. Sessions are small. They have made the temple sessions even shorter now. They are trying to speed up the work. Lots of people waiting on the other side to get their ordinance's done. It's the LAST DAYS folks. We have Irish ancestors who are patiently waiting.....
